Stretch panels across the back
A close-fitting leather jacket pulls at the shoulders the moment you reach forward for the bars. Stretch panels across the back absorb that movement, so the jacket can be cut tight — which is what keeps the armor in position — without restricting the reach.
This is why racing jackets fit differently from fashion biker jackets. The fit is engineered around the riding position rather than around standing upright.
Reflective strips
Red leather is already more visible than black at dusk. The reflective strips on the sides add the part that matters at night: they return headlight beams from vehicles approaching from behind and from junctions, which is where the risk sits.
In daylight they read as silver detail lines. They only announce themselves when a beam hits them.

Care
Store on a wide hanger away from direct heat. Wipe with a soft dry cloth after riding in dust or rain. Apply leather conditioner two or three times a year, paying attention to the elbows and shoulders. Avoid conditioner on the stretch panels and reflective strips.
