Why matte black hardware
A polished buckle has to agree with your watch, your cufflinks and the hardware on your shoes. Matte black does not — it reads as part of the belt rather than as a metal element, so it works with every watch and every pair of shoes in the wardrobe.

Full grain is the outer layer of the hide with the grain intact. Corrected and bonded leather is sanded and coated, which is why it cracks at the fold within two years. Full grain darkens and softens instead, keeping its shape.

Care
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Apply leather conditioner two or three times a year to keep the black deep. Avoid abrasive cloths on the buckle, which can dull the matte finish.
