Why 45 mm / 1.8 in
Most belts are 38 mm (1.5 in) because that fits every loop on every trouser made. At 45 mm (1.8 in) this one is deliberately wider — it fills the loops on jeans and workwear properly, and it holds its line across the waist instead of disappearing under a shirt hem.
It also sits in proportion on a larger frame, where a narrow strap can look undersized. Check the loops on tailored trousers before ordering: suit trousers sometimes have narrower loops that a 45 mm strap will not pass through.
