A work apron in hand-waxed grey canvas with black full-grain leather straps and pockets. The straps cross at the back rather than looping round the neck — which is the difference between an apron you can wear for a twelve-hour service and one you take off at hour three.

Cross-back straps
A neck-loop apron hangs its entire weight — plus whatever is in the pockets — from the back of your neck. After a few hours that shows. Cross-back straps spread the load across both shoulders, which is why professional kitchens moved to this design and why one customer led his review with it.
The straps are leather rather than fabric, adjustable, and the cross fastening at the back sits flat instead of bunching.
Waxed canvas and leather together
Waxed canvas repels water and resists sparks where plain cotton soaks and scorches. Full-grain leather takes the abrasion at the pockets and straps, where an apron wears out first. Both materials age rather than fail: the canvas softens, the leather darkens.
The oiled utility leather gives the apron a rustic look from the start, and keeps looking right even after hard use — marks and scratches read as character rather than damage.

Care
Brush off dust and wipe the canvas with a damp cloth. Do not machine wash — it strips the wax. Re-wax the canvas once a year if it starts absorbing water. Condition the leather straps and pockets two or three times a year.

What size is it and who does it fit? The apron is 80 cm long and 60 cm wide, fitting heights from 160 to 200 cm. The leather waist straps adjust from 60 to 120 cm.
