Why 45 mm / 1.8 in
Most belts are 38 mm (1.5 in) because that fits every loop on every trouser made. At 45 mm (1.8 in) this one is deliberately wider — it fills the loops on jeans and chinos properly, and it gives the geometric pattern more surface to show on.
It also sits in proportion on a larger frame, where a narrow strap can look undersized. Check the loops on tailored trousers before ordering: suit trousers sometimes have narrower loops that a 45 mm strap will not pass through.
Why geometric rather than plain
Smooth leather belts are the default, and they disappear. The geometric pattern is visible without being loud — one customer put it exactly: clearly visible, but not over the top.
It also sits differently with clothing. Organic textures like croc pair with heritage and rustic looks; geometric lines go with minimal, modern and tailored pieces.
With jeans or chinos

Full grain is the outer layer of the hide with the grain intact. Corrected and bonded leather is sanded and coated, which is why it cracks at the fold within two years. Full grain darkens and softens instead, keeping both its shape and the embossed pattern.

Care
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Apply leather conditioner two or three times a year, working it gently into the embossed pattern so the recesses do not dry out. Avoid soaking in water.
