A black cowhide vest with a reflective strip across the back and adjustable buckle straps on the shoulders and sides. The strip catches headlights after dark; the buckles let you set the fit over a tee in summer or a hoodie in autumn.
Mesh lined inside, so it breathes on a long ride instead of trapping heat against your back. One inner zip pocket for the things that must not fall out.

Why a reflective strip matters
A black leather vest at night is invisible. The reflective strip across the back catches headlights from behind — the direction that matters most on a bike. It reads as a design line in daylight and only shows itself when a car's beams hit it.
Most leather biker vests have no reflective element at all. This is the difference between a vest that looks like riding gear and one that functions as it.
Buckles instead of a fixed fit
Adjustable straps on both shoulders and both sides. Loosen them in autumn to layer a hoodie underneath, tighten them in summer over a tee so nothing flaps at speed. A vest with a fixed cut only fits one way, over one thing.
Mesh lining
Leather against a shirt on a hot day sticks. The inner mesh lining creates a layer of air, so the vest breathes and slides on and off over other layers instead of dragging.

Care
Store on a wide hanger away from direct heat. Wipe with a soft dry cloth after riding in dust or rain. Apply leather conditioner two or three times a year, paying attention to the buckle points where the leather flexes.
