Why dark brown
Black is the default and disappears. Dark brown reads warmer, works with denim, tan boots and olive layers that black fights with, and it ages more visibly — lightening at the fold where the buckle sits, so the belt records how it was worn.
The distressed finish means it does not arrive looking new, which is the point. A belt that starts perfect only gets worse; this one starts with character and gains more.
The antique buckle
A square buckle in an antique finish rather than polished chrome. Matte metal does not catch the light, so the belt stays quiet under a jacket. The weight is what customers notice — one describes it simply as a heavy buckle, built to last.
Why full grain
Full grain is the outer layer of the hide with the grain intact. Corrected and bonded leather is sanded and coated, which is why it cracks at the fold within two years. Full grain darkens and softens instead, keeping its shape.

Care
Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Apply leather conditioner two or three times a year. Avoid soaking in water; if it gets wet, let it dry away from direct heat.
